Subcontract work, not leads

Glaziers: work with us

We are looking for one retrofit glazier per region. You make the units and fit them; we find the customer, price the job, hold the contract and carry the collection risk.

NZ Double Glazing sells retrofit double glazing and window replacement to homeowners, then subcontracts the making and fitting. This is not a lead-generation scheme: there is no fee to join, no pay-per-lead, and no listing. We contract with you and pay you as a subcontractor.

What you get

  • Work that has already been measured, specified and paid a deposit on. No estimating time you do not get paid for.
  • Customers who have seen a price range before you arrive, so they are not surprised by the number. The measure itself is paid for by the customer ($149) and passed to you if they do not proceed.
  • One point of contact, not a homeowner ringing at 8pm.
  • Payment by bank transfer against the schedule in our subcontract, not 60 days after we feel like it.

What we need from you

  • A New Zealand business with an NZBN, doing retrofit double glazing now.
  • A current public liability certificate.
  • Sealed-unit warranty terms in writing, from the manufacturer.
  • Trade prices per window type (timber retrofit, aluminium retrofit, full replacement) and per m², so we can check our published bands still hold with a workable margin.
  • The retrofit systems you use, and the regions you can actually reach.
  • Window and Glass Association New Zealand membership if you have it. Not required, but it comes with a dispute process and we value that.

How the money works

The customer pays us; we pay you. A 25% deposit from the customer on acceptance funds your unit order, because made-to-measure glass has to be paid for before it is made. The balance is paid to you after completion and our sign-off. Bank transfer, not cards.

Where we're looking first

Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch. None of them is contracted yet, which is exactly why this page exists: we will not sell a measure in a region until a glazier there has signed.

What we won't ask you to do

  • Sell. There is no upsell script and no commission on glass upgrades.
  • Do free measures. The customer pays for the measure and you get paid for doing it.
  • Sign an exclusivity clause that stops you taking your own work.
